CLIMATE HOAX? PART I: Climate-gate has gone serial. The Moscow-based Institute of Economic Analysis (IEA) now charges that the Hadley Center for Climate Change at the British Meteorological Office deliberately tampered with, and misrepresented Russian-climate data to make the case for global warming. The IEA believes that Russian meteorological-station data does not substantiate British anthropogenic global-warming theory. Analysts say Hadley Center selectively used data submitted by only 25% of Russian meteorological stations to justify its theories, and that over 40% of Russian territory was not included in global-temperature calculations – rendering British conclusions bogus. Following the East Anglia e-mail conspiracy, and Al Gore’s preposterous claim that the polar ice cap would be gone before he could apologize for being wrong about that, and coming on Hugo Chavez’s Copenhagen tirade, one doesn’t have to be a dangerous, unenlightened, rightwing lunatic to wonder if any of this is real. Even the European Foundation has compiled a dossier that lists 100 reasons why climate change is natural and not man-made. Read the first 50 and weep; or not.

EDITOR’S CHOICE: Due to flawed science and even worse politics, the global warming movement as we have known it may be dying. The demise of the crusade has some important political and cultural consequences. Al Gore and the Green Gestapo would deny you a lot more rights than to cause pollution – the ultimate goal is to put the government in total charge of your life. The AUDI motor company’s idea of an environmentally-correct America, to judge from the TV commercial it spent several million dollars to air during the Super Bowl, is one in which homeowners could be arrested for using incandescent light bulbs, customers choosing plastic bags at the supermarket would be manhandled by the Green Police, and anyone tossing an orange peel into the wastebasket could find himself in the beam of a searchlight, hearing a voice bark through a loudspeaker: “Put the rind down, sir! That’s a compost infraction.”
