A COMMUNIY HIT BY THE GULF OIL SPILL ACTS
- 6-30-2010

Navarre, Florida has had enough. As devastating as the Gulf oil disaster continues to be there, federal, state and local government paralysis is sparking even more anger and frustration. Navarre is a community of 30,000 in Santa Rosa County in the Northwest Florida Panhandle. It is about 25 miles east of Pensacola and about 15 miles west of Fort Walton Beach. As one resident writes, “folks here are getting off their butts and not waiting on federal or local governments.”
Mark Goode, a GOP candidate for County Commissioner, is spearheading a movement to overcome the bureaucratic inertia. In a letter to his constituents he writes:
“Navarre Patriots...I'm sending this out just in case you didn't attend last week's meeting.
I've set up a time at the Navarre Conference Center, tomorrow evening, 29 June, 7-9 pm. I have seating for 100 people, and other patriot groups from the area are invited. We'll be brainstorming and possibly launching the Florida Oil Citizen Action Project (FL Oil CAP). Also, Mrs. Patricia Sullivan and her team will be there. I hope you can make it. It's time we take over and act on what the government at all levels isn't. Debbie
Patriot Leaders and Florida Citizens,
I'm in the process of organizing a citizen action group to deal with the oil. I'm calling it the Florida oil Citizen Action Project (FL Oil CAP). I've attached my plan for your review I don't know about the rest of you but I'm extremely frustrated with the lack of action on the part of our state and local government. I volunteered to help with the clean up and have received nothing other than an email that said thanks for volunteering and we'll be in touch. Well, I haven't been touched...
Not only am I working on the group, but I'm hosting a great Patriot from Central Florida next week. Patricia Sullivan (http://patriciasullivanforcongress.com/), a conservative candidate I met at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February, is bringing a team with her to document what's going on so they can get the real word out (truth, not sugar coated). Her team consists of the radio host of Tea Party Patiots Live, a writer to capture in print our plight, and a videographer to record interviews. Mrs. Sullivan would like to meet with residents, especially those within the tea party movement who are being affected, and hear their concerns. They also hope to get on the beach to do some recording. The idea is to raise some much needed attention to what is happening and, in turn, get some help. Patricia said they'll want to talk with commercial fisherman, charters and such that have been grounded. Also those who are trying to receive compensation to see how that process is going. So Geoff, if you can find out if a few of the fishermen are available and would like to meet with her and her team.
She's not in this for any personal or political gain. She called me last week and said I was on her heart, and wanted to know what the Florida Tea Parties could do to help us. I didn't have an immediate answer, but she was willing to listen to me vent. She could hear the frustration in my response. To quote her, "That is why I'm coming, because I don't know and I want to. I want to hear first hand and see their eyes. God has given me a platform at this time, if I can use it to help others, I want to. Then, if He chooses to send me to Washington, I'll be better educated to help those in need."
I will call tomorrow to see if the Navarre Conference Center is available, and reserve it if so.
Please let me know what you think of my plan for FL Oil CAP, and whether you'd be willing to work with me in getting this activated. I have already activated a gmail account in order to have contact info for distribution (FLoilCAP@gmail.com).
Also, I need to know if you'll be available to meet with us Tuesday evening (7:00 pm ??). I hope you'll be able to take advantage of such a great opportunity. Be sure to bring along a few of your members so they can contribute as well. I'll plan on 5-6 per group. Thanks everyone for your input. Hope to hear from you soon, and see you Tuesday. Details will follow.”

We should remember that this is our oil.
As citizen owners we should be able to collect, sell, profit from collection.
Original Tea Party tea washed up on shore SW of Boston was collected, sold, enjoyed and created profits without taxes.
